Throw enough G'MIC, FotoSketcher, and Impressionist filter (with a blend of Xero filters) at something, and this one will pop out. Click here for the challenge thread that I started at DPR (links to larger images and stuff). If you all would like some fun (at my expense), then feel free to play too; don't have to post there; can post your result here (I know I'm going to regret this; lol). :)

Random question. Did you know that tomatoes are really really healthy? ;)

Nothing wrong with getting your daily dose of lycopenes Jolie (my Dad definitely does), but, except for tomato soup and spaghetti sauce, I'm not a fan of tomatoes. :)

Thanks GMS; have attempted many times to emulate Leroy Neiman's style with some close ones and not so close. Very much like his work and this is yet another attempt at doing it in that style. :)

edit:

Well, might as well add one here too; only posted this result here. Just had to take my virtual Lego set out for play. :)

Both results are interesting lylejk. The first one is very colorful, I really enjoy that one. The second result also sort of reminds me of the effect you would get with the old Hasbro Lite-Brite toy. Spent hours when younger playing with that making designs.

I love the lego one. And you don't look like a tomato on my good screen. The other one has dodgy colors. :lol

Oh; I do Lite-Brite too (created a GIMPressionist preset a while back to assist in creating these). lol

Appreciate the additional comments too Jolie and Andy would definitely be proud of your result O. :)

Just save it as a txt file PC; then place it in your GIMPressionist folder under you user account. If you use custome brushes, then you need to place those brushes in the brush folder as a PPM or PGM file. :)

That's right PC; you can't use GIMP brushes for GIMPressionist; you have to save them in PPM or PGM format and copy that file in the GIMPressionist Brush folder. :)

I added a bunch of layers and made various paths (glasses, lenses, sofa/lamp) so I could isolate an effect only on those and used the newest G'mic for a variety of effects
