Gimp 2.10 not recognizing drives

GIMP Version: 2.10.2
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Basic Level

I've been using Gimp 2.10.2 for a couple months with no issues. I get on two days ago to fiddled around, Click Open, and Gimp stopped reading the C: and external hard drive. I click on them and nothing appears. If I click on other folders they show content, but not C: or external hard drive. If I use the search function I can find the C: but not the hard drive.

I've tried uninstalling and installing various versions to no avail. The one version reads the drives, but doesn't export.

I'm not sure what the issue might be.
However,
did the properties of the drive change?

Also,
this cold be a security issue.
Have you tried disabling any security software,
while working with GIMP?

Another thing to check,
would be the operating system files.
Using the System File Checker in command prompt as admin ie.
(sfc /scannow).

In addition to the things I've mentioned above.
Sometimes creating a new user profile can also help.

Check these things and let us know if any of them had any effect.
