Haven't tried your .py version in GIMP 2.8 portable; use the Script-fu there. A bit tired now but may experiment later tomorrow, Diego. Still; just don't understand why GIMP 2.10.6 doesn't even see your .py version; very strange. I even tried placing it in program files/GIMP2.10/....plugins folder but to no avail.

Lyle,
replace the .py version you have now with the attached one and try again.
I remember that some time ago OMG detected that the python working with the official release does not support the so-called "long comments", those which are introduced by ''' and ended by '''.
Here the version without long comments.

That worked; thanks a heap, Diego. Will be leaving soon (most of the day), but when I get back, I'll attempt a play. Appreciate the follow up. Strange that others have no problems at all, but apparently my system has the long comment bug.

OK, Diego; here's my play. Added some aniso and convolution blending for the result as well. Just wondering if line spacing option is in the works; do believe that was an option in the original Script-fu version. Have to also say your python script is so much faster than the original Script-fu. Thanks a heap again.

The DrawOnDark is not so good in 2.10 as in 2.8 (I couldn't "translate" a routine in a proper way), but still quite acceptable.

The result I obtained with default values on the autohatch.
I made high-pass layer on the original image with the grain merge mode; then invert + desaturate on one of the crazydrawnondark results, and put it to darken only mode.
It's allowed to post the results on other sites? I would like to upload it to Behance.
