....GIMP 2.10x?

Found Icicle Script-fu but not Ice Fire yet. Anyway, Icicle Script-fu's at link below if anyone can do the translation.

Lyle, this is my old 2.8 version of IceFire, it seems to work (more or less…) also on 2.10 without any change


(in my version I changed the menu entry: it goes into BestFilters)

Using the "logo" function:

I loaded also your posted Icicle and it works without any change.
I guess this is due to the fact that I'm using Samj's pack, which probably starts Gimp activating the "compatibility" mode.


But IMO it looks like a duplication of Icefire, relative to the "Ice" option.

OK; how do you run GIMP 2.10x in compatibility mode? Did a quick search, but could not find this.

As I said, this run mode should be implicit in Samj's pack, I do not enter anything special and I do not know how to do, but I know who knows how, it's Rich. Hope he reads this post and answers to you.

could be launching gimp in a command adding something like
--pdb-compat-mode=on

Tried adding the entry to my GIMP launch short cut as well as just creating a batch file with it in it, but neither worked, Diego. Did notice that when I launched GIMP via batch file, it opened up very fast (normally not so much; lol).

I used Tin's program to "port" the scripts to 2.10 Language.
You may try these:

A little warning Lyle:
the names of the files have been modified with the suffix Lyle, but the scripts registration names are the same, thus remove the previous ones when moving in the new ones, otherwise you don't really know which ones are taken into consideration by Gimp...

Unfortunately, I get the same type error, Diego (yes; removed the original script-fus per your request), so it's more than just a naming issue. Very strange.

Did you try the Logo (not the Alpha)?

I'm trying to translate the scripts to modern times, aka GIMP 2.10

Icefire stumbles over VALUE-LUT.
Found that in an old PDB List:

What would I best replace it with?
HISTOGRAM-VALUE (0) or HISTOGRAMM-RGB (6) ?

Looks more like HISTOGRAM-VALUE, doesn't it?

HISTOGRAM-VALUE looks to be the "modern" constant.

No, unfortunately not.
So I just try to translate to modern constants where necessary.

Edit: got them working with their default values!
Test with different values later ... if everything is ok I'll post my versions later.

Yes, Diego; tried them both before. Now I tried your update and this time get another error (progress). Both Icicle and Ice Fire gives the error below (and leaves a selection {aka, dotted lines}). I did click off the layer error box before taking screenshot.

So, Tin's program is practically useless, at least in these cases.
Fixed manually that constant (hope it's the last one)
