Edit / Preferences in the new portable version samj

GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: New User

I waited before putting the latest portable version of samj because it's hard to have each time to redo Edition / preferences, (in addition to bitdefender interventions that quarantines Gimp files that must then be restored).
Which file of the previous portable version retains the setting of Edit / preferences? Where is it located and can I put it back in the new version?

Run the new portable once, so that the user folder and configuration files are being created.
Most of the preferences are stored in gimprc if I'm right, but I would simply replace the whole user folder.
It should work just fine, if you are updating inside same major version. Like 2.10.0-2.10.8
But why do you say you are using 2.8.14?

A regular gimp and just replace the whole user gimp profile (samj Preferences folder) however that portable is a bit quirky. What is safe.

sessionrc it holds the window layout but not the theme used.
toolrc holds the contents of the toolbox if you set that up.

The theme is in gimprc but unfortunately the samj portable also references the resource paths for the version there so leave alone. You will have to choose the theme/icon theme again

Other minor ones:
devicrc holds mouse and graphic tablet settings if you use a tablet
menurc holds the keyboard shortcuts if you changed any of those.

At this moment I have 2.10.8 and 2.10.9. I have not deleted 2.10.8.
So I will redo all the settings of Edit / Preferences ...
and scripts and plugins ... it's a little stressful for me who does not know much Gimp!
