Gimptalk Down - Please read

And it's still down Willy; at least the server is not down. It says some driver error or whatever. I just posted there yesterday (rarely do not, but still try; spread the wealth and all; lol). Sad they still are having all these technical difficulties. Not sure if it is an actual attack this time.

Well that was quick; looks like GT is back up again (was getting a database error). Amazing we are now on page 7 of this thread; I'm hoping that this thread will remain quiet now for 1 year, but experience tells that this will be not the case. lol

Still like GT as well. Don't really want to join GIMPer or GIMPuser (though I post at GIMPuser since they allow you to do so, so long as you give them your email address). GTs been actually doing much better; just hope this was a temporary glitch (maybe a cosmic ray hit a transistor responsible for holding on to a memory bit or something).

Gimptalk isn't down but it's not functional either (database errors) . Anyone knows what is going on there?

Driver Error
There appears to be an error with the database.

If you are seeing this page, it means there was a problem communicating with our database. Sometimes this error is temporary and will go away when you refresh the page. Sometimes the error will need to be fixed by an administrator before the site will become accessible again.

I think its their host, because it's plagued with server issues, always has been.

Yes, the site owners tell me it is due to cache files becoming corrupted/full, not sure why this is not something that can be automated from their end though. Let's hope they can fix it soon, unfortunately I don't have root access on the server so I'm pretty much hand-tied when it comes to this.

Some patience and GT will hopefully be back soon again.

well said mahvin that been my biggest problem these type of sites is the lack of respect for other people and the judging and high mindedness that go on. i like it here because i don't have to deal with that.

So far 78 (well, including this entry 79) reasons why my main GIMP site (thanks to O) is GIMPChat. Still like and post occasionally at GIMPTalk, but they need to hire a new webmaster to fix all this cr@p imo.
