Nice work as always. I like the texture on this one and the addition of the symbols adds icing to the whole cake. It's a very expressive image - a pleasant antidote to my "moody" stuff. :hehe

Erisian - thank you very much; took longer than I expected to do this one.

Pat - thank you; six years Gimping and still learning. The portraits do take time and present a challenge (well to me anyway :hehe ) but I get a lot of satisfaction when they are finished.

Something a bit lighter now, taking a lead from a recent level_0 image and one of my old poems ...

Sallyanne and level_0 - thank you for your comments. A cool, winter's day and plenty of time for Gimping; in the sky, on the land and under the sea ...

The wide brown land for me ... second verse below of Dorothea Mackellar's poem 'My Country' from 1908. Love it and the sentiments it expresses

I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!

Keep them coming OMG. Forgive me if I don't always comment on individual images but you post so many so quickly! I'm not complaining of course.

Hidden deep in the roots of the 'tree of life' lies the anguish of our first peoples.
