Glass text tutorial

Should have told me about laundry,I need mine done too

I appreciate Your answer,it works fine if I am adding a word on a background,but what I am trying to do is
"glass" a background only,no words involved

i don't know if this will help or not or you maybe
you have already thought of this but, select just the words,
then do select invert that will select every thing,
but the words.

Pirate, that glass script that Tux posted is also very good for making see through glass, check his post and look at the different images he posted. viewtopic.php?p=108#p108 script viewtopic.php?p=108#p108

I'm using gimp 2.8 and commands are different from what your version did you use in this work have had some problems, you could update it with gimp 2.8, if so thanks is a good job mexico

I have tried this several times now and am still not getting it quite right - will post my results

Couldn't get it quite shiny enough or the distortion right. I went for ripple in the end.

Can you please update your tutorial for 2:10, if is much different? or show us what we need to be doing for the latest gimp version. I could be making mistakes but I and those coming after will need it more up to date.

I think it works okay in 2.10. My bevel is just small because of bigger image and text.
