I've been terribly busy, I started to work on previous entry but never had the time to finish... Work, family, other stuff. I even have comic deadline (two page comic to small publication) looming...

Anyhoo, here's my entry. Pencil and ink traditionally, coloring with Gimp. This kind of spun out of control, but I still decided to finish it... I fear always that if I try to restart a work, it will never finish... You know.

But it is what it is, at least it's finished!

Given my previous 'lack of context' post above, maybe this qualifies better as a household gryphon.

As usual with these RAPs, the strict interpretation is less important than to do something inspired by the prompt. I like your Gryphon - looks sleek and deadly and with a lot of details in the feathers too. I like the eye in particular - nice glint to it!

Both work fine; this has more of a 3D feel to it for sure. Is that a red drop of blood leaking from its eye?


Nice! As @kimppi said, this would work well at the back of a leather jacket or somesuch. Maybe the edgier version of one of the Harry Potter houses

I'm glad people find the time to take part in the RAP whenever they have time, but real life always comes first! Btw, it's perfectly fine to put up an unfinished painting/sketch here too.

As for the image, you are really good with those clean lines and anatomy in general. The style of the women here reminds me of how e.g. Wonder Woman was depicted back in the Golden Age of Comics. Also the clear, contrasting colors help with this impression - very easy to 'read'!
Interesting theme with them riding a Gryphon while releasing white doves ... is there some particular story going on here to explain the scene?

Gryphon == Griffin... Gryffindor?

The publication is small-time Finnish comic anthology magazine, there's no online publication.

So my sources show so clearly... I have tried to emulate many artists when I learned to draw, I think there were several who drew Wonder Woman (Lee, Garcia-Lopez, Byrne, Benes... too many to mention )

That was the part that got out of hand -- too much symbolism for one image and the grinning Gryphon -- that (half-)bird has something funny in his mind for sure!

I like how the babe was first by the tree of life, and now flying somewhere else on a griffin.

Thank you guys - my 'house of' was because I saw a Gryphon in a shield - maybe they were a family figure as well as other things?

Here's my quick gryphon, Finland vs Belgium just started and I have to...fly!
It was done in Inkscape, the head was drawn with line tool and then path/simplify. Other parts with bezier curve tool.
The tuxedo represents the bird tail, then I thought I want it to hold a stick monocle like it was old royal gryphon with a bad vision.
But it became a bouncer.
Next round I might try advanced coloring

Nidhogg - am watching Finland V Belgium too ... but it is a bit like watching paint dry right now. The Finland line-up with a 5-3-2 formation is the exact opposite of the long ago days when I played and it was 2-3-5. So here are some more gryphons

That's one beefy Gryphon! Fun with a new take on the concept. He looks so content too! For being done in Inkscape, I think the coloring is really good. I guess one could experiment with gradients for further effect.

You are on a roll for this RAP! It would be neat if one could really make so detailed figures in the sky with floodlights/lasers. Nice touch with the two stars being the eyes of the gryphons.

Really fast and simple doodle for this. Pencil, scan, Karbon for lines, Gimp for anything else.

I already have a humanoid robot named Tantra, who has undergone several transformations elsewhere. She was though, quite happy to participate in a further metamorphosis for this thread

Tantra's sibling Tantrum wanted to participate too.

Could have been better, but I got lazy to switch to the Krita's mesh tool

That was not the original cables I intended, I did quickly draw some, though (paths and stroke paths with a clipboard brush, then levels)
So, while searching for some mechanical things to put underneath her skin, I came across those cables, and like you, I found the texture very interesting, very cyber-punk
