A question to my 3 excellent artists:
assuming this source image

with M effect we get

I played a bit with the filter, adding one option
with choice 1 of the option I can get

...

with choice 2 of the option I can get


The question is:
Ella, Issabella, Lula would you like to have an option to "texturize" the flat colour areas of the source (which are empty in the std M)?
If yes, please comment on the two proposals

Thanks for your interest in this filter. I see much better if there are a possibility of texturize the plane colours. I like both options 1 and 2
Option 2 seems to be quite a lot balanced. Difficult to choose anyway with only one image.

I got a little silly and added barboulliage after the JVID-L and got these
and wanted to share -dream effect worked well too, less detail

I have not used this M-filter yet, Diego. It is less to my taste than the LA-version.
For those who use it, an extra option is always interesting.

There must be something wrong, this is what I get when I run the M-filter

I have found the error. By reading Issabella's PDF I saw where the doodle filter should be in G'mic, which I didn't have. Not even after updating G'mic. On another external disk I also have a portable Gimp version, there I did see 'doodle' under 'artistic'. Now the plugin does work. Thanks for the PDF, Issabella, so I could found the error and the solution.

OK, I assembled the variations into a filter variant MD.

Thanks a lot Dinasset, even being on a vacation, you help a lot.
I think that the image determines a lot the choice to be applied with your new filter. If the image has very few items, it will need option ellipses, canvas or barbouillage option. They are a very nice solution to fill empty plane colours.
But if the image has lots of items it will need none.
I did two samples to compare.
