I'm out of town without my pen tablet. Since I've been sitting in a cafe for a few hours with nothing to do, I thought it'd be fun to try drawing something with only my laptop ``mouse'' touchpad. It's a much different style than what I usually use.



This is the Red Fractal Planet. Shading the ship with the laptop touchpad was a pain! It's still not perfect... (and I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, so it's driving me nuts) Maybe I can touch this up a bit when I get home... add some details and fix a few of the nuances. It's fun to try out new techniques though.

Random penguin:

Like the ion trail from the ships engines. Don't have discipline to hand draw like this (filters and clipart for me; lol). Thanks for sharing Merrak.

I don't know if this qualifies as ``by hand.'' There's no way I could draw anything resembling a straight line with the laptop..

I pretty much used selection and gradient fill exclusively...
and the fractal explorer I wish I could add a few more fractal types to it.

That's pretty awesome, merrak. Kind raises the hair on the back of my neck when I look at it. Very nice.

I think that is beautiful merrak. I love everything about it.
