Hi! I'm uzu, a self-diagnosed artist! :paint It's been a long time since I interacted with forums of any sort, but I thought I would join here as well because I love GIMP and the people who use it and make it!

I've been using GIMP on and off all my life. It came on a compat disc with a pc magazine I think and I started using it for photo manipulation and then more for texture editing for games like quake 3 and jedi knight 2 in 2007. This practice slowly transitioned into doing digital art from scratch. Since I've been using mouse all my life and didn't have much clue about online tutorials (especially in english) when I started, I pretty much had to figure out my own methods. :smudge Now, after a very long hiatus, my interest to study art came back and fired up GIMP once again to help me become a digital art god, but I may still end up selling cookies instead, who knows... :bawl

I'm still learning art, the program (forget today, re-learn tomorrow) and fine-tuning the tools GIMP offers, my workflow, etc. I find GIMP to be a very mouse-friendly art and image manipulator program but I'm not spoiled by Photoshop, so how would I know? I have also tried many other art programs out there I could get my hands on and I honestly like all of them for what they are but GIMP has a special place in my heart and I wish I could help making it more popular or greater for all the help and joy it gave me. :bowdown

Anyways... Do not think that I'm an art machine though, I have an army of unfinished projects that I'm hoping to finish once I finally make up my mind what GIMP theme I choose to stick with. :yes It can happen any minute now!

Uzugijin, welcome to Gimp Chat!
Love to see your projects when they are finished. We here think gimp rocks and truly welcome anyone else who thinks the same. Ask any questions if you are relearning the program (maybe there are new tools in it since you last used it too), you will get an answer.

Thank you! Well, by "Now" I actually meant the few recent years, haha, but I get distracted easily and sleep more than I do artsy stuff! Since then I made a life-long friendship with Warp Tool and I discovered MyPaint brushes just this year, which was a game changer for me. :hi5
There's still many things to learn everyday though and many possibilities!

Thanks again for welcoming me and I'll definetly post some art or crazy experiments here in the near future! :heart
