Molly the mathmap folder has to be in either the gimp-2.7.3 user folder
or the
C:\Program Files\Gimp-2.7.3\share\gimp\2.0 folder

in order for Gimp to initialize it.

You may just want to re-install Mathmap again Molly.

Mareo is that your plugins folder?

Yes Rod I know. It has completely disappeared from the 2.7.3 folder. If it has to happen, it will pick on me first.
I am going to take out 2.6. If I have one gimp to keep track of, it would be better to have it on the hard drive. Just have to get the nerve up before I start, besides make my bed, get dressed etc etc....:teeth

Yes - I have a lot of dll files in the folders plug-ins (mostly just copied from the bin). Despite the path (PATH = C: \ Program Files \ Gimp-2.7.3 \ bin), some programs have different requirements .....

Oh okay, well it works if i just load the files after i open it so i think i will stick with that other than copying or moving any more DLL files.

Thanks! :)

Good luck with it Molly!
I uninstalled Gimp-2.6.11 already and everything runs pretty smooth with just Gimp-2.7.3.
Other than the deprecations for the filters it seems pretty stable too me.
Besides i always have Gimp-2.6.11 portable to fall back on just in case! :lol :)

I took out 2.6.11 and downloaded and installed 2.7.3, Everything started to go downhill from there. It is a disaster. I took it back out and installed the portable version and another disaster.
I think the problem is that I am installing them in the wrong place.
The first time I installed them in Program Files. I then installed G'MIC into Gimp in program files.
I then installed Mathmap in Program files. After I did that nothing would work and there was no sign of G'MIC or Mathmap in with Gimp. I took everything that said Gimp on it out so now I think it is clean.
NOW.
Could someone please tell me whether these go into Program Files, or Program (x86).
Does mathmap and G"MIC go into the same place OR do they go into program files/gimp2.7.3. I am so confused now I am going cross-eyed. I should have paid more attention where they were before I took them out.

Right now I want to start fresh by just putting Gimp 2.7.3 onto my hard drive along with G'MIC and Mathmap. I can still use Gimp cuz I do have it on my flash drive and it is working perfectly there. HELP

If you are downloading the 64 bit version of Gimp-2.7.3 it will go into just regular Program Files.
All your 32 bit programs should be installed in the Program(x86) folder

GMIC needs to be installed in the gimp-2.7/plugins folder in your user docs (if you install Gimp-2.7.3 reg install and NOT portable)
If you install portable it(GMIC) needs to go in the portable directory in its plugins folder.

MathMap (folder) needs to be installed in the user/gimp-2.7/ folder and the mathmap.exe and its DLL files have to go in the plugins folder. :)

Hope that helps Molly.
JamesH has also compiled a version you can check out here.
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2233#p29084
It is portable but has GMIC , GAP, and Mathmap in it already.

Well Rod, I did exactly what you said. BUT Mathmap and GMIC both don't show up anywhere. GMIC should be under Filters and Mathmap should show in Generic.
When I open Gimp 2.7.3 (32-bit), I get 11 errors before it goes in, other than that, it is fine.
I didn't use the portable version and installed this all on the hard drive...

Gosh I never had probs putting those two in before ever...... :hoh grrrr

Take a close look at those errors that pop up and see if they include missing DLL files.

Fire up Gimp-2.7.3 and let it run all the way through (close the errors as they pop up)...
The very last thing that should start up will be Script-Fu plugin......
Leave Gimp open for a sec and ....
Copy and paste here what is written in the console.
There is a little icon top left of the console window.Click it and a drop down menu will appear.
Select Edit/Select all - then Edit/Copy
Then either paste the results in Notepad ++ or here in a code tag.

Script-Fu was the last plug-in that showed, then went right into Gimp. What is the console. Is it that black window? I can't find the code tags...

There are a few things you could do to get rid of most of those errors.
1 - move all the XCF files out of your pattern folder.
2 - remove all the non gradient files out of your gradients folder.Only keep GGR files or SVG files in there.
GMIC starts with that error in Gimp-2.7.3 for me also.Just a deprecation thing i believe.

Other than that everything looks normal.
What do the error popups say?Can you get an screenshot of any of them? :ninja
