I know this has been discussed here before a while back, I am wondering if someone can help me to remove some of the copies of pictures I know I have. I have copied over folders to other folders to make them easier to find and instead of removing the original straight away I left them. So I do not know if my most recent work went to the copy or the original folder - I do not want to get rid of all my older stuff, yet.
Is there a free program that can find all copied pictures and do they have to be done one at a time? I would prefer it if I could do it quickly.

An Image management program comes to mind. It would give you a visual comparison of the images in question.
and depending on the features of the program, you may have original dates on the files, as well as a modified date. Depending on how many images you have, and the specs of your system, the process of sorting/reorganizing/culling may be a long tedious process. I'm sure others here might have a viable solution(s) for this.

Your biggest issue will be determining what is a copy vs what is original. By the sound of your post you may have well blended collection. You will need to clarify what you want to achieve.

Hi Adm, thanks for replying. I want to reduce the amount of room this would have taken up on my computer. I have downloaded a program before that finds all your image files but when I went to delete some, it only gave the file names for the images and I had to then open each file to see what they were. This would have been a few years ago.
I was wondering if anything better had come out yet where I didn't have to open each file to see the difference.

By the way, I have Irfanview (latest version) Can that do anything?
Found that it can show the thumbnails of different folders and that you can delete them, so if I don't get any more answers I go with that for now.

Try something like dupeguru. That's made for finding duplicates.
Needs a little bit of familiarization though.

I constantly use the portable version of Everything software, which allows me to sort through my duplicates and do many other things, such as quickly finding a file when I know its extension and a word in its name.

After opening up the images in my pictures today with Irfanview I found a folder that I put together in 2020, that got me spending a couple hours upploading some to another site, Which is one reason why I want to be careful what I delete
