How do i remove the default ant trail?
I'm not talking about the normal selection tool ant trail.
I'm talking about the annoying trail that is displayed when there is no selection active.

I'd like to know too; annoyed, but never pursued eliminated the outer dashed line around the canvas (and got burnt many times not noticing imperfections that the dashed line hides). Not sure you can eliminate it though.

It should be possible imo. This would be the only reason that i would stop using the program.

I think you are looking for <View> -> Show Layer boundary.

That is if you are speaking about the yellow dotted line around your layers.

Thanks Griatch. That setting is a keeper. Still learning something new every day (usually I pursue things better, but for some reason, I never tried this one).

I wonder what's wrong when that boundary isn't visible. I've gotten so used to it that if it doesn't show it's a signal to me that the boundary is somewhere outside the image. I have turned it off on occasion to see what something very small looks like without it.

It's like hiding a selection boundary. I forget that I hid it and then wonder why nothing is working right.

Been there, done that.
