Pretty much most of the organic and texture filters are great for creating Spherical EMAPS . There really isn't just 1 that i use.

I also use seamless images that i create in Filter Forge.

BTW Rodilious in GMIC was actually started in Filter Forge *wink wink*

Good tips on emapping Rod.
I seem to have better outcomes using whirled and/or streaked images to created emaps using the 'Map object...' plug-in' with Gimp 2.10.

Here's one where I used the Desaturate emap option with an existing custom font using the Custom Font Bevel Reflect plug-in.

I like the EMAP's that look like geodes.

Results on the letter A using BRL. And many times it depends on Font testing as well. Some look great, and some don't.

Sorry i should have said geod looking emaps...lol

I have discovered that large eyeball irises inside of another texture work very nicely.

Another similarly process with this CF - but with added use of custom font highlights to add a little more light to the BRL process...
