I do like your results, but the values need to be more clearly defined in order for me to get it right.

The 'pdf' was good, but I could not complete the color-balance at the end, because I could not understand the settings needed to create the color in the tutorial.

Hi Wallace. 10 points of light i believe is "HighLights" that is what i used anyway.

Thanks... I did figure it out anyway, but I became very frustrated during the process. I'll have to try the tutorial again for the 3rd time and post my results, after a short break for it.
I really what to make this tutorial work for me, because I would like to be able to use it with other things that I have in mind.

When I had to translate the tutorial is possible that I wrong any concepts about gimp filters parameters because my gimp is in spanish and when I want to do a tutorial, if I'm hurry, I use google translator and not gimp in english.

As Rod well told points of lights means highlights in color balance. Also you can use Colorize and look for a sanguine tone.

I figured it out, as you can see for the image I created using your tutorial. It's a good tutorial and it all was correct. I think I was just trying to hard to get it right. The image I made came out great.

Yes it was and here's another...

This is a really great tutorial once I got it right. I had to adjust some of the G'Mic settings on this one, due to it's size, but I think it came out really great. I'm glad I stuck with it.

I found the original image to do this, but I having trouble.

No matter what I do, it not the same, I've tried 5 times, can anyone explain.
I have the latest GIMP 3.2.6 and the latest G'MIC-QT and set the output to "new layers",
tried the PDF file instructions. Read the whole thread, everything seems to be confusing. Also
tried different desaturation settings and nothing seem to work, even tried color to gray. My
problem is the cheek area is missing or doesn't look the same, not even close to what it should
look like, and under the chin is off, it just blends together. This is what it should look like when
you're done but can't get the same result.

Can anybody do a shorthand step by step, it says "To desaturate it (mode: luminosity)"
That option isn't in the latest gimp, unless it's been renamed to "Luma."

Gimp 2.10 changed Gaussian blur. Given this tutorial precedes that you can approximate the old value by multiplying by 0.32. So the tutorial saying Gaussian Blur 33 is now approximately 33 * 0.32 ≈ 10.56 if you are using gimp 2.10 or later.

Was not able to recreate this sketch has shown in the end.
Creating the copy visible paste layer to grayscale is not possible with GIMP 3.2.6.
Unless you start using other filters to match his step. The other problem in decoding this is,
that the Hard sketch in G'MIC - QT has 3 different effects for the same settings, just by
hitting the enter key. Then there's the blending modes, they don't work as describe, even
though I figure out a different set of setting and opacity to match his effect.

This is to bad. It is lost.
