(click for DA link)

A character study from my (largely unpublished) comic Where Red Apples Lie. If you read that you might remember that people tend to dress rather differently there. :)

This was done in a slightly different style (solid black ink lines rather than painting) since it was done for the weekly challenge over on DeviantDeadlines on DA, which this week prompted for taking inspiration from other artists. Many are those comic artists who have worked in b&w over the years! I added some grayshades at the end, but overall I tried to stick to solid black lines and even some crosshatching.

Done in MyPaint + GIMP.

You should get into clothes design. For fashion or movies. Very interesting stuff :)

But is it me or is his left knee a tad oversize?

Heh, thanks for the vote of confidence. Fashion was never my strong suite in reality, so it's fun if I can at least fake some semblance of it in imagination. ;)

Good catch with the knee, I have changed it a bit to make it thinner, hopefully better now. Thanks!

Thanks for the comment. For some reason I more associate top hats with the US (Lincoln I guess), but there is no clear nationality here in the first place so also England would work. Glad you like the jester-sig too. ;)
