What font is this?

I'm in the mix of redesigning my website from top to bottom, and I visited the HBO website for some ideas, and I saw the font they had, and well I was wondering what font is this??? As it's perfect for the menu I'm working on.

This is not the same font but it's very thin and quite similar to the one you are showing. You have the choice of many different renders of it which is nice.

I have a font called 8514fix that looks a lot like that. It's a little more squished though, not quite the same.

The left side is regular spacing, the right side is with letter spacing of -2.5 I think.

I don't know if this font came with the computer or if I downloaded it, I couldn't find it on dafont.com.

I have that font too Amanda so it must have come with the computer. Looks like it's just a matter of kerning (think that's the right term) between letters, but it does look like a perfect match to me.

I have one called DejaVu Sans that looks pretty close also.

Tracking is the space between all letters, kerning is space between specific pairs of letters. Handy article:

That does look identical letter-shape wise though. I think you got it.

interesting...if I google 8514fix, I keep getting links for 8514fix.fon I can add font, free font or anything else and the same stuff comes up...none are fonts.

Thanks guys I found one very similar to it, called "Thin Lines and Curves" I think.

Mike you might also look at a font called Quicksand It is a family of free fonts and has similar thin writing but a more rounded appearance. The small letter "a" is different. but a very nice font. Definitely worth looking at.

My new web layout is nearly done. I just need to make a background, cause the one in use isn't mine, and have someone take a photo of me with my shirt on lol. Gotta stay professional

The font used on HBO is Gotham by Hoefler-Frere

Museo Sans (500) can be download as a webfont the others will require you to go to Font Squirrel and prepare them for the web. I figure if you are gonna use a font to showcase something at least use a font that looks darn good.

Akky (Pauline) I live very close to Warrnambool and the locals refer to Warrnambool as "The Bool". W'bool is a common abbreviation for Warrnambool and 63 is my house number, not my age or birth year!
