GAP not playing full clip

GIMP Version: 2.6.11
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: XP - SP3
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

I go to extract video range and load video and then click video range and play video - the full clip is not playing. It is only about a 4 second wmv. It plays only about the first two seconds and at a high rate of speed. Also when I load an avi - the program shuts down.

Very new to this - would appreciate any help!

By default, the number of frames imported is set to "100". It sounds as though you'd like to have more than that. If you want to import the entire video, set the number of frames to a suitably large number ("99999" is about 55 minutes at 30fps).

Better still, hold down the SHIFT key while you click on the "Video Range" button and you will be presented with a playback window which will let you view/navigate the video and set the start and end points to be extracted.

i didn't realize you could import wmv i thought it was only avi

hey saul..as long as i got you here can you tell me why i can't get your animation setting to work (it used too), doesn't matter what i set it to it won't change frame speed, i have to change each one manually

The script can't modify "frames" timing, (for gap "frames" are not layers but images that contain as name postfix a progressive number...works for layers animation (as in gif or apng) not on frames

you may first use Video/frames to image , so x frames will result in x layers of the same image and then the saulgoode script

Maybe you have an outdated version?

it is not properly to detect framerate for some video on gap 2.6

2000 fps, that may cause the problem

maybe you could try gimp-gap v2.7.0 for windows 32Bits(unstable developers version)
i tested some video format that has wrong fps before
now all got the right fps except rmvb
