The first one reminds me of a crop circle.

Wow, that's awesome. Is that done with a specific brush, and paths?

For the dog (don't ask how I did Lena; lol), I first used G'MIC's Isophots and which gives the liney effect. I used that as a selection for stroking with GIMP's own Vine Brush. I kept the liney, colorized it some, and used them as the Vine bark. I used an illustration technique that I developed to enhance the Vine part more (Dup, G'MIC's Bilateral Filter and set the layer to Grain Extract, merge Down and set to Grain Merge and duplicate to taste). Then I merged the Vine with the bark. I created a brick wall fill (one of many textures that I have) and then dupped the Vine/bark layer and ran Motion blur at 235° and set that layer to burn. Might have done some additional enhancements, but the outline above will get you the gist of the work. Glad you like the result tstandiford.

Both very nice ,first as at a first glance may look as a realistic variant of the classic crop circle
..humm... maybe it can even be used as Rosetta stone to decipher the misterious of other more simbolic crop circles

Because in this case the message seems clear:
-Hy, I am *** a humanoid from ***, how i could get a date with this girl?

lol; go for it PC. Never thought to use this technique for crop circles; usually use Resynthesizer for that. This technique would be much faster.

Actually i am as a very sensitive Vamp ,not only i cannot stand the sunlight, but even the light of the computer screen is too strong and hurt my eyes...luckily i have a dark theme on firefox and so i may still browse forum.

But yes soon i may flood my flick and the art board with something as "Photocomix strike back"and similar
