Here's one for all you Star Trek lovers. I saw this on one of the Voyager episodes where the captain came back from 26 years in the future (their future) and noticed this emblem. I google up starfleet emblems and found it. I decided to see if I could make it a little better and here's what I ended up with.

Very nice, how did you make that cage? Is the netting a pattern or did you make it?

:rofl Thanks guys & gals but I wouldn't know where to begin on makng a tut. I'm just a duffer when it comes to fooling around with GIMP. I'll attach the zip on the metal patterns for you Molly. I just saved them as .pat to my GIMP pattern files. I got the mesh idea from another tut and just kept messing around until I got it the way I wanted. I had to google up a couple of photos and scale and crop and select and delete, then map to gradient on some, displace on another, etc, etc. Took me about three or four hours, lots of trial and error so there's no way I could remember what all I did and in what order, sorry.

You actually have some that aren't in the pack. So, it's good either way. :)

Thanks for the link. Are they all seamless and do we open in gimp and save as a .pat?

2-ton, some are seamless (that I have used), and any image filetype will work in the patterns folder, they dont have to be .pat.
