Hi everyone.

In version 2.7.3, the copy/paste or dragging an image into GIMP didn't work. Fortunately, it was fixed on 2.7.4 BUT, still, GIMP can't stand the WMF files. Yes, I know, that obsolete format from MS but believe it or not, I still have to deal with those quite frequently. GIMP 2.6.11 can handle that perfectly.

And Partha, you deserve an statue!

Best Regards.

GIMPer.

PD: Still couldn't figure out how to install 2.7.4 in Ubuntu 11.04.

Hi GIMPer,

Drag and drop has worked since in 2.7.2 onwards in my builds. Drag the file to any part of the tools or the main window.

The one issue that I solved in this build was that the interpreters for python needed modification "on-the-fly". So, now the installers makes the change to that file after installation and so you should be able to double-click a file if you associate it with Gimp. Right and open will also work.

Thanks,
Partha

PS: 2 Additional points if anyone has not noticed yet are :)
1. The splash screen is obviously not the "official" one. Since these builds are mine, I changed the splash screen. :)
2. I removed the console window, since there were a lot of "comments" about it. :)

Hi,

I created a directory called "Nodoka-Midnight" in gimp-2.7/themes and droped in the gtkrc file from gimp-2.7, then changed preferences to select the new directory Nodoka-Midnight. I closed and re-started the GIMP but the new theme did not take effect.

Any help?

joseph

You said you created an empty folder named "Nodoka-Midnight" in your .gimp/themes folder. Then you dropped the gtkrc file in it from Gimp-2.7 ect folder?
That is probably your problem.
1) you need the gtkrc from the actual nodoka midnight folder. You may also need the dll engine.

Zip attached with the gtkrc file in it.Put that one in your .gimp/themes folder and try it. :)

Attachment:
File comment: Entire Nodoka-Midnight folder.
Place in the user/.gimp-2.7/themes/ folder

If that doesn't work you will need the engine which i also can upload if need be.

i am really puzzled: i already installed the portable version no problem so far.
But i also wanted try the "normal" 32 bit version, and well it didn't installed a .gimp folder in my user directory.

I tought maybe was a confusion when naming the installers, so i open the folder in Program Files to check and looks fine, as should be in the standard version..but not user folder

Somebody that installed the same standard 32 bit version may check ?
1)Do you have a .gimp-2.7 folder (AARGGHH :gaah ...here may be a problem !! if you already installed one of the previous 2.7 build you will have that folder in any case as leftover of the previous install)

Hi PC,

The "normal version does not create a .gimp-2.7 directory if you already have one. It uses the existing directory.

almost identical to how should be but contain also gimprun.exe that i tought used only by the portable version.
Anyway it is not the portable because doesn't contain a .gimp-2.7.4 folder

There should not by any gimprun.exe in the "normal" version. What you may be seeing is the gimpuninst.exe file which is required to uninstall Gimp. Are you sure you are seeing gimprun.exe? Then it is a bug.

Yes. If you don't want to use the existing .gimp-2.7 directory, you can rename it to something else or you will have to use an environmental variable. If you want to do that then I can send you an email on how to do that.
Quote:
2) opening the gimp folder in program file do you see a gimprun.exe ?
Just at soon you open no need to explore subfolders

No, there should be no gimprun.exe. See above.

Let me know if you are having issues or send me an email.

Thanks,
Partha.

Partha forgot about gimprun.exe ,i should have put my other glasses on

But now and with the good glasses still i can't find any .gimp user folder:
Sure if was a old one i will never have noticed...but before was no any .gimp folder so i did notice it absence.

But i may try something else...if missed gimp should recreate that folder when loading..i try now

Done...

OK the installer at least on 32 bit doesn't create the gimp user folder (at least on xp and on my PC ) i am sure about

BUT is not a problem because when gimp load for the first time, it will create the .gimp-2.7 folder

nobody will never notice ..i did only because i was so impatient to move my add on there that i searched for that folder e before load the new gimp for the first time

No problems PC. Let me know your experience. I hope it is better than the last when you tried the "normal" version. :)

Thanks,
Partha

PS: Yes, the installer does not create .gimp-2.7. Gimp does that and so I didn't feel it is necessary to replicate it.
