That's an ideal Christmas present for my brother as he is into sketching also using other materials

Unfortunately for me it's gonna stay only as a wish ...because it's gonna cost too much here.But i must admit that this is a really great gadget....so easy,simple and clever.

Seen this one before (other forum). Though extremely cool, it would be near useless for me since I'm a simulator (i.e. lazy filter guy; lol). Many here, such as Mahvin and Griatch would probably like this one though.

You could probably do the same thing by clipping your art work to your tablet and tracing over it with your pen.
Of course you wouldn't be able to export it directly from the pad but it would already be a drawn layer.

One of the drawbacks of this would be "I make many mistakes when i draw" and i wouldn't want those captured by the pen right away.Does it include an eraser?Then that would be a plus.I erase 75% and draw 25% so i would need one.

Wow that is pricey. For people that do a lot of drawing I would say it is well worth it, BUT for the majority of us it would be a great expense, especially if we only used it once in a while. When it really catches on, watch the price drop dramatically.

I have a lot of friends that would be interested in this.

I don't think that there is eraser included in this gadget...but maybe when you transfered your files to the computer there is option for erase.

Sounds like it exports as SVG so i would imagine you can erase any part of the drawing in your finished work.It doesn't sound like you could actually erase with the pen tool as you draw it though, and all your mistakes (if you make them like me), would have to be fixed after.

Just seems easier to clip some finished art work to your pad and go at it.

the fact that it exports to a vector element is what grabbed my attention! that means you can do ALL sorts of things to your drawing after the fact.

This is a pretty curious novelty toy from Wacom. It's one of those things you can either easily fit in your workflow or you cannot fit it at all.

Whereas I like the idea of being able to draw "anywhere" and on cheap paper, this is not something I'll be getting. I don't miss drawing on paper much at all compared to my tablet, and this (notably the lack of an undo when drawing) will essentially feel like a step back for me I think. If I really wanted to draw on paper I'd much prefer drawing like normal, then scanning.

It's a cool gadget, but if I was saving up for a new Wacom gadged I'd rather keep on saving for a cintiq than to get this. The new Cintiq 24HD is on my wishlist now (not that I'll be able to afford it, but one can dream).

Actually, I'd be extremely happy if I just had a cheap graphics tablet. However, considering my bleak financial situation, that's not gonna happen anytime soon.
