I'm trying to add a watermark to a gif and was able to do it once but can't get it to work again
i used saulgoode script and after a couple of tries i was able to add my initials to my gif, but for the life of me can't get it to work again..any ideas/tutorials

Make sure you change the Image mode to RGB. Image > Mode > RGB or nothing will work right. You then will need to re-save it as an animation.

Perhaps you are not overlaying the background. All of the layers need to be visible. Make your watermark the bottom layer.

Filters > Animation > Overlay background, not Combine background (Combine background will put it under the layers where it won't be visible).

Kudos O! Taught me something I didn't know. With much embarrassment I admit I had been doing this the hard way. Thanks, gracias, merci. I had never paid any attention to the overlay function. Forest for the trees, haha.

I've always designed my watermark in a new layer, copied it all, deleted the new layer, and pasted it on every frame of the animation, and anchored it using CTRL+H

With saulgoode's script, it's all done with one click. Check it out. The link to the script is in alc59's first post.

Yes that is about one the my most favorite scripts. It saves tons of time when doing animations. Before that script was available, I was pasting the background or overlay over every layer, then merging them into each other one by one...took forever.

another one of saulgoode scripts i like is for Setting the Frame delay and mode of GIF animations by renaming visible layers

I think i use the combine background script more than a lot of my scripts.
It is a very handy script to have in your script toolbox.

for some reason saulgoode animation settings isn't changing the number in the layers or during playback
the current settings show 200ms and when i change it using settings filter to say 500 it still says 200 and the play back speed hasn't changed
any ideas

I can't tell by your settings, did you try changing to replace? What is is set at now? Is it Keep? Don't forget to delete the bottom original layer when you get it the way you want it. It will run smoother then.

i tried them all but replace is the default and just ran it again but no change

i don't know how good this video will look but maybe it will show if i'm missing something

I am no expert for sure but maybe you should uncheck the chain links, maybe make more layers to make it smoother, Also, you need to delete that background layer. Once you combine your background, you no longer need that layer, so that only leaves you three animated layers which would be quite jerky, I think.

I've never gotten this (animation setting) to work, gif or no gif, visible layers or not. The best option to change ALL the layers to a different time setting is to resave the file as a new animated gif and apply the new setting at that time. Saving over the top of an existing gif would not work for me, I have no idea why. It only works when I started fresh with the original layers and saved as a new animation (including the name).

the version i have now which saulgoode posted a link to in one of these threads works great for me in 2.7.4, i don't have to save and reopen..can make as many changes that i want to check the animation speed
i couldn't find the post it was in tho

I don't have 'Overlay background' under 'Animation'. What am I suppose to do?
