soooo, if there is user selection for the layers, then you could run the script on each separate area of the layer? and therefore have different looking fonts on each separate area? That would make for some interesting looking pics...hope to have time to try that out soon.

When you run the script the dialog lets you pick one image layer and one text layer.
The script then takes the text layer - alpha to selects all the text and copies that selection from the image layer.
Basically taking a selection of the image AS text colors and all, and pasting it into its own layer.

The script then duplicates that layer, color inverts it and changes the layer mode to the one you selected in the dialog. :) - then a color bg layer is added, the color you chose in the dialog.

Pretty cool!

I'm way late to this party, but I'm still having a lot of fun with the "Text Art with ASCII Text" script. It's actually working out better for me than Textaizer Pro 4.

thank to have bumped up this , i am no much in asci art but this is different and cool examples from Vau make spin something in my brain so i grabbed the script and i will use soon

I am having an error with this script in GIMP-2.8.14.
procedure execution of gimp-image-set-active-layer failed

Seems the PDB is correct though.
