I see that it requires autotrace to work. Where did you find a Linux copy?

For Ubuntu (first ever) I use the Synaptic.

I installed this in Gimp-2.6.11 for Windows xp 32 bit a while back and could never get it to work.
Do you have to place a autotrace shortcut in the plug-ins folder? I never tried that.

Looks very dubious for windows, I also tried it in my WinXp machine, put all the autotrace binaries in their own directory and added it to the path.

Still throws up lots of errors, there are some obvious 'linux roots' in the script - line 206 refers to /bin/autotrace but even correcting this, it fails when it tries to make the temporary svg file.

@Oregonian - linux autotrace, look no further than your linux repo. It is there in PCLOS, the 'buntu repos and from memory Debian.

Just wanted to mention that Autotrace doesn't work in Win7 64-bit period but still works in my XP VM. Potrace works fine win Win7. I personally just feed a bitmap into my Autotrace batch file and voila, so don't see a reason anyway to use this Python script. Just wanted to save some pain for those trying to get this or Autotrace itself to work in Win7 64-bit (because it won't). Wish they would update Autotrace, but they haven't done so for way too long. Potrace has been maintained.

In Gentoo Linux the last version of autotrace is dated Oct 23 2011.
So at least the Linux version is still maintained.
