speaking of tux my OS is Ubuntu 10.4 and i cant play any games on it
(the games window just disappears on me)

For games, you'll need a graphics card capable of doing accelerated 3D (Open GL). nVidia is about the only game in town, although there is some 3D support for newer ATI and Intel based cards.

You can enter..

lspci

In a terminal window. This will tell you what kind of video card you have so you'll know which accelerated 3D drivers to install.

There are some great games in linux (like Freespace) but you'll need the right card and video drivers.

Gimp is addictive once you get comfortable with it. In my opinion this is the best gimp forum around and will make an excellent support group when you're forced to admit you're addicted, we all are. If I have anymore kids I'll name him Wilbur. But since I'm 54 that probably won't happen. I can always adopt though hmmm....

Well ... maybe. Go out on the back porch and holler "Wilber" a few times to see how it sounds. BTW, GIMP Wilber spells his name with an e instead of a u - just to let you know. Maybe it's more modern that way. :gimp
