Neon script-fu?

GIMP Version: 2.6.11
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: XP - SP3
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

I was wondering is there a neon effect script-fu? For making selections have a neon effect like the alpha to logo ones. I found a few similar things but they were python scripts and I've had problems when installing python before and not got stamina to try again.

Try this one.mainly for lightsaber effects, but you could select text and create a neon effect that way also.

Make a selection on a new layer and run the script.Pick a size in pixel width for the glow, and choose a fill color and click ok.One of my favorite scripts.

I do not remember where it appears in the menu as i changed mine to Filters>Render from selection

Strange it doesn't worked I did the normal put that download into the scripts folder and it showed up in gimp but when I run it all it does is make the selection white.

Try changing the top layer mode to normal and you should see the effect.
