Hey guys having an issue with GMIC. Cant seem to download the User filters (even after 15+ versions and reinstalls...), is there any way to manually download them? Looking for all of them, in any 'pressed format (.zip .7zip etc.).

Recently there was a naming convention changed (when from .gmic to just plaing gmic in the naming conventions). Maybe best to ask this question at the Flickr thread since I'm not a coder or such; just a user.

I have discussed manual downloads with David. The answer is no.

First start with a updated version..the last was released yesterday so i bet your is not updated

Then just try to click "refresh filter" that is a icon in gmic under the filter list

If that fail search for "gmic" files in C:/Users/yourname/appdata/roaming delete all and refresh again

If even that doesn't solve..no problem just let me know
i may well copy my gmic files and upload here

If you are talking about the extra filters from other users just open GMIC, go to About>Additional Filters
Tick every square and click Apply, then click refresh. All the filters should be added after that.

I have tried this. Many many times in many versions. I have cleared it through firewall and everything. I see partha posted a link for the downloads but where do they go???

Partha i know that link i didn't mean that (that was already solved long ago )

i wrote that i could not see any recent message from ZWard117 and the reply he refers is weird it is possible the manual download of all the filters sources ,as was explained in the post you linked but here i am to lazy to search the links, if needed i prefer copy and send the updated files i have in my PC (i swear are updated to 5 minutes ago).

That would work. But Where would I put these files? In the GMIC Directory inside of plugins?

1)Did you follow my suggestion to unistall and replace with the last version ? ?
2) If 1 didn't solved did you removed all "gmic" files from the place i indicated , and tried again?

Do that please and in case are still problems let me know... so i will zip a copy of the external filters and attach in my reply

in my first post i explained where are the file to remove, replacement will go in same place

if you can't find AppData or Roaming enter in explorer preferences and there check "Show hidden and system files",you may have to confirm passing to a warning (but don't worry no harm may be done just by looking at system files they don't bite neither explode)

ya didnt work. Tried that many times myself. I know the gmic_def goes there but the filters where do they go?
Or are the filter definitions stored in the gmic_def file?

there in the same place are all different files with extension .gmic as photocomix.gmic

if you are in "roaming" just use search giving .gmic as input they should show up

you still didn't tell me if you updated gmic to last (yesterday ) version, your problem may derive to use a older version

Ya there is no .gmic files period, search is no results. I used the latest version from the site and from sourceforge. Just reinstalled it (again) to yesterdays edition. I just need the .gmic filters. Do you have them all?

.gmic is no longer available.The newest version of the GMIC filter now uses the gmic file instead (no period at the beginning).
Are you trying to add the default GMIC filters or the Additional filters?

rod yes but now there is a .gmic extension for most of external files i.e photocomix.gmic
