A build src is available.
http://www.gimpusers.com/news/00399-gim ... le-release

There is one last bug fix release in the stable GIMP 2.6 series before the highly anticipated GIMP 2.8.

Lots of reported problems have been fixed:

Changes from 2.6.11 to 2.6.12:

These bugs were fixed:

627328 – GIMP 2.6.10 segfaults when CTRL-left click on a layer mask
631885 – GIMP fails to import a path from SVG
631728 – Crash or Gtk-CRITICAL on File→Open
641259 – [abrt] gimp-2:2.6.11-1.fc14: py-slice.py:172:slice:TypeError: integer argument expected, got float
640219 – gimp(1) manpage fixes
640612 – Sample Colorize does not function non-interactively
646947 – file-pdf-load: Don’t use deprecated API
639203 – file-psp: fix for bogus input data
639203 – Fixes for some buffer overflow problems
652280 – Guard against crash due to quitting while DND is processed
660305 – fails to build with -Werror=format-security
623045 – script-fu: make server IPv6 aware

and many more!

Also there have been several translation updates.

I am compiling now for Windows. :)

Just finishing up with GEGL compile. It will probably be another 2 hours or so before it is totally compiled.

Hope you will share Rod; not sure if the developers are going to release 2.6.12 (Windows version) since it's already been a few days and still no compile. :)

BABL and GEGL compiled nicely, however while compiling Gimp-2.6.12 i ran into a slight problem with
script-fu-server.c file.

I have asked Partha for some much needed help. :)

How does this differ from the 2.7.5 version some may be using already?

If you already have 2.7.5, then don't install 2.6x. You are using the GIMP Beta (all odd numbers such as 2.7x is beta; even numbers such as 2.6x is stable release). 2.7.5 has more features then 2.6x. 2.8x will just be a stable release and hopefully include all the features that 2.7x has; it should be released in a few weeks (so cross your fingers). :)

2.6 (even number releases), are stable releases.
2.7 (uneven number), releases are test or dev releases. You can also tell if a version is a test release or unstable release by loading Help>About and if its a test release Wilbur will be wearing a hard hat. ;)

I am actually really very surprised that the developers have not compiled this stable version for Windows themselves.
This is an error i have never encountered compiling Gimp-2.6.11 or Gimp-2.7.4. Perhaps this is why.

Yup. that was the ticket.
Compiling now.Partha you rock.

I bet the newest GIT build (Gimp-2.6.13) is with the server file fixed. :lol

As soon as its compiled i will test it on my machine, make sure it's clean and create an installer for it.

Thanks again Partha.

Cool Akky, maybe you can give us a shout out how it works? :)
That is if you decide to update.I really do not think there will be much difference.Other than it being even more stable.I believe these issues had to be ironed out before a stable release of Gimp-2.8.

I really am not sure why they may release a Gimp-2.6.13. :lol

They released 2.6.12 Windows installer at Sourceforge. Just finished installing it (not sure 13 will be needed). Main motivation is that they said they fixed some stability issues. We shall see. lol

Running it now and Impressionist (PSPI) still works. :)

You had your chance; you blew it Rod. lol

Not sure why they even bothered if 2.6.13 is going to be released in the next few days. Maybe you can beat them to the punch then. ;)

Nah i have the new Gimp-2.6.12 compiled now so i will just wait for the new Gimp-2.8 to be released. :)
However i newer Gimp-2.6.12 is pretty stable i will keep a link to it as an older version that works, and actually has paint with gradient available. :lol ... (plus PSPI still works)
Just in case someone needs to re install it and can not find it anywhere else.
