Partha I deleted 2-7-6 and redownloaded the portable from your site, when installed gimprun = 666kb and had a little wilbur, whereas before it just had a rectangular .exe symbol, :bigthup it also now works fine.

Thanks Graechan! I appreciate your helping out with the testing!

You only should take care to not create preference path outside the gimportable folder
(open it: the .gimp-2.7 folder is the equivalent of the gimp user folder in the user directory of the normal version ) then you may customize as you wish and use from the main HD (that is my main use )or a pen-drive ...

Btw i am just adding your scripts...well it take a while because i hate extra menus (as "script fu") so i am modifying the registry paths

Hi PC,
Thanks! :)

Do you want me to host your builds/customization on my site or are you good to go?

Thanks,
Partha

oh yes would be nice if you may host (but note that i included also the help so the file size is quite big )
and i hope you can re-compress in a installer

I am almost ready with the 32bit and hopefully tomorrow i will finish the 64 bit.

Hi.

Maybe this can help.
Written in Java. You need Java 1.6
You can drag and drop scripts from one Menu to the other.

On the portable 2.7.6 build, I can't edit the folder settings... when I try to open the folders group in preferences, it doesn't open, and the other settings groups don't close either.

Don't know if this bug is particular to this build or the entire 2.7.6 version...

Strange, very strange

Could you check if this build solve ?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-pa ... z/download

(almost 100MB mainly because the full Help is pre-installed, you may shrink a lot the file size deleting from the help folder the languages that you don't need )

PS
if you prefer at 64 bit you should wait a bit (no much ,few hours ,1 day max )

I do not have that problem with the folders in Parthas Portable compile.
Also i have added the help browser and all the large preview plugins. This includes tile small, fractal trace, depth merge, gimpressionist, map-object ,and lighting effects. :)
To add the large preview compiles i did you have to add the intl.dll file (from gimp-2.6) to the gimp-2.7.6/ bin folder.
They all work very well.
I am going to add GAP, Mathmap, and Texturizer also.
PSPI (for Adobe 8bf filters), already works out of the box for Parthas version.
Python also works very nice in the portable.

Thanks Partha, very nicely done. :)

Partha build doesn't already have out of the box that plugins in the version with a bigger preview ?

i wonder if were replaced for some reason or just by accident

Thank to let me know i would correct them in my "Windows friendly" version
(first i i will ask to partha if was some reason to revert to the microscopic preview..i bet was a accident but better be sure)

That was my guess...when fetching the last git code it is easy forgot to replace the code of few plugin

i didn't notice before because to be honest in this period when use a gimp plugin the 90% of the time is gmic (and the 5% is MathMap...)

(BTW about Gimp prtable and Gmic you may be interested to this http://www.flickr.com/groups/gmic/discu ... 316062564/ and maybe you have some useful feedback on the matter )

PC isn't it possible to hard code GMIC to create the def file inside the PLUGINS folder where IT gmic.exe resides?
And then have GMIC just refresh the def file in there?
That would make it pretty portable. :)

I got this to work in Gimp-2.7.6 Portable (APNG)
Image

Image

You need to take the file-apng.exe and the file-apng.ui and the intl.dll file from 2.6 and place them in the lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins folder. (the dll file needs to go in the BIN folder)..Remove the old file-png.exe file first, and put it somewhere safe just in case. (like your desktop)

@ Partha -
I tried to open some EPS file patterns, and the new build couldn't find ghost script even though it's in the bin folder. :)

Rod,

I found Ghostscript to be less than stellar. It's quite finicky. I have included the the dll and bin from the same version and often you have to recopy the gswinc.exe, gs.exe etc. on top of the old ones.

Try this, download the latest Ghostscript 9.05 and install it somewhere. Make sure that it's in your Window's PATH. Then either delete the included Ghostscript or copy the stuff from the gs bin directory to the gimp bin directory. I think I also made a copy of gswinc.exe to gswinw.exe. I don't have my windows machine handy to verify it. Can you check?

Thanks!
Partha

@Rod
did you still have my last portable version ?
If so, please, please, could you check if could open the eps out of the box ? (it should, it does for PDF but i am less sure for eps)

about the apng i got it working but i want not include because too buggy:
if a user purposefully add it could even accept and learn to deal with his bugs, but to me are too critical to be acceptable in a build in plugin
