Having a brain cramp here. When I select the Brush tool or Pencil, the default brush always shows "clipboard". Where do you go to change this to deault to the large circle brush? I don't know how it got changed but I would like to have it back the way it was. :hoh

AFAIK
Select the brush you want
Open 'Preferences' and 'Tool Options'. Untick 'Save on Exit', then click 'Save Tool Options Now'.

That works here on a PCLOS Gimp 2.6.12

However, a 2.7.x installation always reverted to the clipboard whatever I did. My PCLOS 2.8 RC1 is 'fixed' hope it stays that way. Horrible feeling when you try and paint and nothing happens. Got caught out a couple of times.

@ Rod

maybe because if you have in the preference "save setting when exit" (ooppss this doesn't sound good english !)

but even if i have saved in preference my favorite brush for each brush tool (once for all, not at exit time) i always get the clipboard brush

Surprised you have not come across this.

AFAIK - acronym

As Far As I Know

A general disclaimer, meaning it works here, on my operating system, under these circumstances. Not guarenteed to be applicable elsewhere.

Thanks Rich. Seen it before but never asked what it was. I never was one for texting or Facegarbage or the like. Showing my age I guess....either that or Lyle is starting to rub off on me. (lazy)

I'm with you Drac. i think it must be age! Took me ages to find out that LOL means Laugh Out Loud. TTBOMK is another one. We need a dictionary of texting.

I certainly agree. The dictionary should be named Texting for Dummies Oldies.

Ok, smart alek, I'll bite. What's TTBOMK ?

Lay off the age bit, it reminds me that I am retired.

These acronyms are not so much to do with texting, I do have a mobile phone, most of the time it sits in its box where it should be.

All to do with a different era. Before these forums became popular there was Usenet and acronyms were widely used. I still look at comp.graphics.apps.gimp everyday, very-very few posts now, almost dead.

if ever in doubt http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/

I remember usenet!!! I used to frequent alt.music.queen, and just happened to check on it this week. It looks like google runs usenet now, so it's basically a google group. Now that there is twitter, facebook, and various open forums, the usenet newsgroup I frequented have become deserted ghost towns inhabited mostly by ads and self-promoters.
