Is it possible to duplicate multiple layers at once?

Operating System: Windows
OS Version: XP - SP3
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

I'm working on an animation and was just wondering if batch duplication was possible.

There is a script that is supposed to enable this. http://registry.gimp.org/node/16563#attachments However, I can't vouch for its usefulness as some people don't like it for some reason. It's worth a try I think.
