This one works with your layer groups.
Some folks seem to be having trouble getting it to run correctly but it runs fine in Parthas 32 bit version (install)

Ya I did, had to do some manual pluginrc editing to get it to show where I wanted, but it seems to work fine.

I believe the default menu location is Layers>Layer Effects
At least mine was. :)

Ya it is, and I changed it in the plugin but to no avail. I had to actually go into pluginrc and manually change them all there :(

What i would like to see is instead of using the same png and creating new groups, is an interface for all the layer fx and settings within each menu something like the clone layer tool does.
Then when you click ok all the settings are set in one group on individual layers. That would be awesome

Hi everyone and thanks Rod ;)
Layerfx-2.8.py work nicely for me, BUT by applying several effects on the same text it will be several groups.
Is there a way to collect all the effects in the same group ?

The only difference is the previewer in the python version.
Yes you can run both side by side with no problems.

This is exactly what i am getting at. If the tool had an interface such as the clone layer tool, you could switch between each layer effect and then select okay. The entire effects you made would then be listed in one group.
This would be an awesome addition to Gimp. And i think it's certainly at least plausible.

The clone layer tool has at least 4 different links within its interface to switch between effects and values for those effects.

I think something like that would give you a very close layer style type plugin. :)
But to do it, ahh that is the question.I certainly do not possess the skills to write the filter. It would be up to one of our many script gurus to create.
Possibly even make each change in layer effect previewable? :)
The clone layer tool allows you to select "clone" and you get a preview. If you like it you press ok. If you do not you press undo, and make your changes and press "clone" again to preview again.

So it works in Clone Tool so it is feasible to write it up as one interface with multiple effects, and preview.
It's already been done here with the Clone Layer Tool. :hehe

To properly bevel an image like below I had to add a 1px transparent border then autocrop back to original size.

Yes it's not all that great for beveling photos. :)
It works nice for objects with more solid or gradient blend fills though.

I use DD's bevel python plugin most of the time now anyways.
