Hello Folks,
I have been working in 2 & 3D design for a number of years and was using Corel as my 2D editor, but am now using Blender and Gimp as 3D & 2D editors. Blender has excellent material editing but more limited 3d painting (at least with my current level of skills).

I have recently been hearing that many of the latest 2D programs have been able to include the abilities of Z-Paint to visualize and apply the program's tools on either the wrapped or unwrapped 3d form while not getting into altering the 3D shape itself.

I found this Forum looking to learn where Gimp was in this quest, and how and where to accomplish these goals.
Thankyou

Welcome to the forum Dragon. :wvy :welcome Although I've been using Blender for some time now, I still struggle with basic modelling so I'm not up to painting my models yet. Hopefully somebody else here can help you. Keep tuning in. :)

:tgif Welcome to Gimp Chat Dragon. If you take the time to look at all the stuff on this site and learn a few Gimp basics, I think you'll find it quite usefull.
