I have an animation - 150x150 - that I would like to use as an avatar but the file size is too big. How can I reduce it without reducing the physical size?

When you saved your gif, did you go to animation > optimize for gif? That will reduce the size a lot.

Reduce the number of colors and frames.

This said, a 150x150 animated avatar is bit of an eyesore.

Don't worry. I re-optimized it and it brought it down from 404 to 389kb.
