I just downloaded 2.8. And now I have one question and a major problem.

The question, I see there are some scripts not already on there that I want to use. Where would I put the scripts? I don't see a scripts folder.

The problem, I can't save anything. I click Save As and enter the name I want it to be, then click Save and it doesn't do anything. I tested it and it will save as xcf and not jpg.

Help please!

First question:
go to your C:/gimp/user folder and open, Look for the script folder and open it. Paste your script there, has to have the .scm extention.
(I can't tell you the exact path cuz I am in Linux so it is a different setup)

2nd
In Gimp 2.8, you can go to file > save as and save your .xcf file, that is your gimp project with all your layers.

If you want to save as a png or jpg, gif, click File > Export > save (tell it where you want to save to.

I found the scripts I wanted to use. I'm used to Gimp automatically transferring them.

I have another question. Do I have to open up the Gimp files and click on Start_Gimp_Friendly_English every time I want to start Gimp? I don't see an icon to click on. I see the old 2.6.11 and that's it.
