This is mainly for PC.
I was able to get Howler (BroomHead) to work in wine.
If you go to the PSPI download site and download the linux package and have the archiver install it it will download the version of wine that works as a dependency for 8bf plugins.

RPM - Scroll to the bottom of the page and look under downloads.
The one i used was for Fedora core here
http://tml.pp.fi/gimp/gimp-pspi-1.0.5-1.cru.i386.rpm
But you may need a different one for your os.
And it did work for installing many Windows programs like SWiSH, Howler, Aurora 3D, and all my commercial 8bf exe files.



Just thought i would let you know as you said you were having trouble getting it to run through Wine. It could be the version of PD you have also.I had to try an older version of SWiSH to get it to work.

yes it was with a previous version of PD Pro (4 or 5 ) and i am almost sure that no previous version was working with wine.

Almost certain because i got a free copy of PD from its developer, free in the hope i could find a way to make it run in Linux with wine....but i had no luck.


Happy to hear that now works...even if i am not sure if this may help me to run my older version As now i can't afford upgrade fee)
