When loading Gimp 2.8.2 in 64-bit Windows I get Application errors for plugins file-tiff-save.exe & file-tiff-load.exe.
Any help here?

If was a corrupted unistaller (possible they may get corrupted during download ) reinstall should fix

OK. Re-installed & all was OK until I re-installed UFRAW for RAW file editing. Now I get the errors so it is somehow related to UFRAW install.

I had a vague memory that ufraw was a bit painful to install, but i can remember the details

anyway the portables from partha-samj www.partha.org should have Ufraw (and lensfun) preinstalled
(same for mine that has also much more viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4986) and there works without creating similar problem

But of course should be possible install it ... before unistall at least ufraw works ? Gimp may open raw files ?

both gimp & ufraw seem to work if i ignore the two errors & let the load proceed. just a little annoying getting these errors every time.

the error say that open/save of tiff file will not work

I don't work with TIFF files in GIMP so should be no problem. Would be nice to get rid of the bloody error messages tho.

Ufraw needs to be in your main Gimp folder not .gimp-2.8.
Here's my set-up.
C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\ufraw-gimp.exe
C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin\ufraw-batch.exe
C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin\ufraw.exe

You can try this version, some small problems are solved.

You could simply place the two offending plug-ins somewhere you can access them if needed.
tiff-file-save
tiff-file-load

There will then be no error dialog to worry about.

As an alternative (the way i do it) -
You could also just dock the error dialog (Windows>Dockable Dialogs>Errors), to any dock and the errors will open in that instead of all over your screen.I normally will do it that way..If the error doesn't cause any harm or crash Gimp that is probably the way to go about it.
That way you need not move those two plug-ins at all.Then if you ever need to open a TIFF image they will be there.
