yup, love Prince's music!

whew, so many things to say to so many people! well, here we go:

pirate 541: please don't blame molly, she's completely innocent - i'm the one who should have been more clear about the brush function! to begin with, i assume you finished step 2 and have some circle selections. you will have to work on them one by one, starting with the one you want as an outline for your paisley. copy that selection. now select the brush tool and open the brush dialog. if your selection is smaller than 512 pixels you should now see it as the first brush in the top most row. click on it and click once in your paisley image. if your selection is bigger you will just see a part of it in the dialog and then you will have to scale it down to 512 pixels or smaller first. you could of course skip the whole brush thing and just paste the selections one by one, but i like the brush method, i think it gives less jagged edges. hope that made it clearer to you!

esper: the eighties! i see i'll have to give prince some more respect in the future. way back when it happened i thought it was just the universe finally bending to my will when paisleys started to show up everywhere, i had no idea it was prince behind it all... that paisley park text is some of the best shape-to-text things i've ever seen, it's just beautiful. and all these years i've never known about it because purple rain bores me stiff!

molly: odddballs come up with the best ideas, though . hope you haven't given up on the blob paisleys, if you like i'll post the work log i wrote where i was very exact about things and tried to measure the iwarp transformations in grid squares.

I never liked it either, I use wither funpixmaker or paint.net.

I have always been a big fan of paint.net. They have several extra filters you can download too. I used it all the time in Windows. I think I had it in Fedora-16. I will check to see if it is in ver.-17.

Gms 9810: i know paint.net but i had never heard of funpixmaker - just downloaded and tried it and it's fun . probably easier to use than iwarp too, though iwarp and me are slowly becoming friends.

and of course i tested the paisley blobs in funpixmaker, here's the result:

no need to apologize, pirate,i wasn't really thinking you blamed molly for anything! i only wanted to point out that it was my tutorial, not hers, so i was the one responsible for not explaining properly . i'll try to mind my language a bit better, i've already offended at least one person on this site simply because i automatically pick the silliest ways to say something.

erisian: beautiful!!! love the colours and the fractal patterns and the contours makes it less of a blob. btw, have you ever seen a fractal pattern based on paisley units? i've looked everywhere for a pattern like that since i read a short story called fractal paisleys - i'm sure soemone, somewhere must have made one, it's just too good not to exist .

it is a bit silly to raise your own old threads from the dead, but i have made some blob paisleys again and i like them so much i wanted to share some. here they are:

So did I molly until my brother dragged me to Purple Rain concert. I went from utter disdain to standing on a chair for three hours. I remember Prince and the Revolution as tremendous performers who gave it their all and then some.
