i have went to this link and tried to install this script

http://fence-post.deviantart.com/art/GI ... t-84921148

but i can not get it to install. i am not sure what i am doing wrong... i was told this was a plugin, so i put the files in my plugin folder for gimp and it will still not work...i will post a picture of my folder in just a second...to show how it is showing in my folder....i know some times files have to be zipped in order for them to work but i have done that...cause i installed the animated snow script last night and was able to do that and i got it to work..but for some reason this animated fire script will not work...hmmm i just noticed it is a fire script,,,would i have to put the files in my script folder instead of my plugin folder?.....hope someone helps me out....

just put the mouse over the rounded edge, near the X button and then drag to resize the window

That rain script is always like that. Even FP knows about it, I found how to get to it but I forget. hold down two keys and us your up and down arrows, but don't remember which keys they were.

If you hold down the Alt key, when you click on the anifire window your cursor changes into a hand and you can slide up the window.

I wonder if it's the OS. I have Linux.

Did you continue to hold down the Alt key when you clicked and tried to move it? You may want to try the shift or ctrl keys. Keep messing with it.

well i had to move my task bar that was at the bottom of the screen to the right in order to use it.....the ok button is barley seen even doing this. i can't even read the button but at least it's to where i can click it ...if anyone on here is having trouble doing the same with this script or another script..then try moving you task bar around...i just went to my start menu and went to my control panel and then to my appearance settings and moved my task bar to the right of my screen....this is the only way i was able to use this script..the ok buttons and the cancel buttons can still not be seen but the very top of those buttons can be highlighted enough to be clicked..if anyone knows how to contact FP..let him know this may be a simple option for people who are having the same issue i was having...it was driving me nuts...but i got it figured out

@rdgracer71, FP hasn't come on line for a long time, maybe over a year. I did the rain script at least 2 yrs ago and he knew about it then. He did say he might shorten it a bit and take out a few of the choices but I guess he got busy.
I know what you mean, it is frustrating. I know I used the one of the F keys, anyway I am sure it will be figured out.

In Windows if you want to move the Animated Fire dialog.
1. Right click the Menu bar -> select Move.
2. Use the arrow keys to move the window.
3. Left click the Menu bar to release.

I wish script-fu had the ability to present multiple input screens or at least, multiple columns. I find it limiting to only have one page (with one column) in which to present user options, with no scroll bars. The problem is compounded when you're using a 16x9 ratio display with lower resolutions. The only option is to hide the taskbars or increase the screen resolution (or just use python to write the script).

Yes and even python will make huge dialogs unless you modify your gimpfu.py file. :)
Bytes and Pixels showed me how to do that.
