Is there no Separate+ plugin, I can't find it in the menus, but on the site it seems to say it's included.

What can I say - I goofed. :(

I have it for my Windows build and forgot to delete it from the Mac build. I will try to have it for the next Mac build.

Sorry about that.

I'm still working out how to build gmic for my gtk+quartz build of gimp.
Partha, if you have any pointers, I'm listening. :D

As far as plugins go, my build is set up so that the plugins are all dynamic, and as long as they are placed into a valid directory, they should all work across various versions and builds. I'm also compiling a list of plugins that work, as well as a readme to get them all working (including files which need to be modified/moved after installing). So far, these are the plugins that work:

BIMP
Wavelet Decompose
Wavelet Sharpen
Wavelet Denoise
Separate+
Liquid Rescale (requires liblqr)
+various python scripts

EDIT: If people are brave, I could also include liblqr in the bundle, then people would have to install it into the actual app bundle though. A fun exercise.
EDIT2: Figured out gmic.

I have all these in my builds. Please let me know what you want and I will be happy to provide it to you. Please note I don't do quartz and so can't help there. :(

I see that you figured out gmic and so we are all good?

... you might be interessted in

GIMP on OS X packages are now available as a native build. :)

Take a look at this blog entry.

All plugins I've included in the past are still there and the user manual packages work too. And, of course, G'MIC is included too. ;)

I also mostly fixed the annoying bug which caused plugins dialogs to pop up behind the main windows (scripts still do, nevertheless it's quite useable).

Enjoy.

Simone

Simone, are you telling us that you have also made a native build for mac to add to the one that partha made and Clayton made???? Wow we actually have a choice now..thats fantastic...Big thanks to all three of you and to Simone especially who, over the years has made it possible for us to use GIMP with X11...Clayton I have messing round with your build today and find it now quite nice to use, now that it has GMIC included..tomorrow if I have time I will try Simones version if thats what she is telling us.

I should add that so far, I am in favour of parthas version since it has so many other things added to it...makes it so much easier to use I feel.

Partha, I just downloaded McGimp and I thought it was 2.8.2 but when I look at the info, its says it's 2.8.3!!!
It works fine so far, and I am glad to see that in the one window mode, I am again able to resize it with the corner handle. But...unfortunately for me, it is not picking up any of the scripts and brushes that are in my user>gimp>2.8 folder. Only the defaults show up. Drat.
So I was looking in Gimp preferences>folders...and there are no folders listed with brushes, scripts, etc.

2-ton,

I was afraid of that based on the change I mentioned. :(

You can copy your brushes, scripts from ~/Library/Application Folders/gimp-2.8 to ~/Library/GIMP/2.8

Let me know if that does not work.

Thanks for testing!! :)

ok, tomorrow, I am too tired tonight.
Do I copy the whole folder at once or each thing one at a time?
Can I copy and move the plug in's, too? Not sure if any are actually working, though.

Yes, you can merge the folders or highlight everything from 1 folder in Finder and copy it to the corresponding folder in ~/Library/GIMP/2.8/

You can copy and/or move the plug ins if they are python scripts. If they are compiled plugins they probably won't work. That is same as before.

OK, keep me posted. We'll work it out. :)

But before you copy anything, can you check if this version works as is? Then we can eliminate this version as the source of X11.

I rechecked to see in case ufraw required X11 and it does not. At least I don't see any dependencies on it. Otherwise, most everything is the same.

I'll check back our morning (US east coast).

Maybe instead of putting them here as I find them, I should write a list...found that the alpha sorting issue...or lack of it...has returned.

That would be great!

Also, now that you posted a screenshot, I know what's going on. :)

So, I will fix these two issues before releasing.

Thanks!

and partha 2 ton and I were wondering if you could help us with something else we both find a bit of an issue at times...quite often we find that the .py scripts dont show up on GIMP for us...and that includes MacGimp...there was one a few days ago which we wrestled with and while everyone else was quite helpful with suggestions...it just didnt happen for us as we couldnt find it, even tho it was present in our plug ins folder...and its not an orphan...the name of the villain is bevel2_1.py which I will add to this for your scrutiny in your own time when you have it...please.......ok just discovered I cant add it here so I will email it to you and thanks again. We really value your help and input.
