Yup.
I guess I' m a bit old-fashioned but I still use the old GreyC filter. I never really bothered downloading G' MIC and even went through the trouble of importing it from 2.6 to 2.8 when it came out a couple of months ago
Is G'MIC worth it though? I also have FX Foundry which seems to be everything I ever needed.

well "greyc" is 1 of the more then 300 filters included in gmic

about Fx Foundry ,scripts miss the preview and that in most cases is a severe handicap

Personally, I can't do without G'MIC - especially it's thin brush smoothing which I use a lot. (PhotoComix' creation) Give it a whirl. There are many useful and fun filters in there.

In a word, YES. G'Mic is definitely worth it.

I pretty much canned GreyC and replaced it with G'MIC since my main use for GreyC was fake smudges and G'MIC presets do more then a better job for me. :)

I still do! I've never looked into G'Mic... wonder if it'll work on my Mac?

The easiest way to check out G'mic would be to download one of the portable versions that include G'mic. Partha's, Photo Comix, and Samj versions would work. That way you don't change your existing setup until you decide.

Myself, I am only running portable versions so I can access all features of Gimp.

Where can I find those versions bilbo? I googled but couldn' t find anything that made any sense to me. I' m not an expert on computers...
And what would it change about my existing setup if I downloaded something else?

Okay, as I read through these threads, I see people referring to different filters in their GMIC's that I don't have. Can anyone explain to me how to get and install them? Thank you!

I also never took the time to explore G'mic, so I'm still using GreyC (mostly to save noisy photos from the junk).
