The file uploader doesn't seem to be working?

Did you change the name of the file you are uploading. If you already have one posted by that name, you will have to change part of the name before you can post it again. flowers.png change to flowers2.png eg.

I found it quite difficult to keep the house as a focal point. I converted to and played with the HSV mode layers and was surprised to see the detail in the foreground bushes. I am not happy with the seemingly serrated shadows under the weatherboards. This is due to the 72 x 72 pixels per inch display and is not there on the original or when you enlarge this image.
Anyway a nice exercise.

I would argue that it's because you are allowing the forum software to re-size your image - a process that you have no control over. I think it's better to re-size it yourself to a suitable size for displaying here. That way you have complete control over the final product.

Thought I'd have a quick go at this one.
This uses four layers. From the bottom up:-

1. The original
2. A duplicate in burn mode - opacity 63
3. A colour inverted duplicate in grain merge mode - opacity 63
4. A green layer in grain merge mode

just because it was fun, I will post mine! The hardest part is remembering what I did. I upped the saturation and then went to gmic and ran high pass on a duplicate, and inverted it...merged down, and desaturated. Duplicated that and then ran contrast and brightness to bring out the detail. I used a layer mask to make the blown out side of the building less bright and blown out by letting the lower/darker layer show through. New from visible. Next I went to gmic, sharpen (deconvolve). I think that is it, but I may have forgotten some stuff...had to leave it a couple of times and didn't write anything down. I should have done more work to make the foreground bushes show up more, but I got lazy. I never worked with such a large file, so I found it interesting to see how Gmic worked on large pics.

Also no flicker. Here's my go. Desaturated via luminescence, added an overlay layer containing an area contrast enhanced version that has the sky and windows all masked off, then a small s curve adjust on the final to pop it a bit more.
