In gimp 2.6.12 I could use small icons in addition to custom theme. But when I select small in gimp portable I lose the theme but get small icons. So how do I keep the theme and get small icons too?

I would love to know how to get small icons in 2.6.11. then I could have just one narrow strip for the tools giving me more workspace.

In 2.6.11 what I had did was Edit>Preferences>Theme>Small

and then styled everything using the gimp-themes installer.


To accomplish the same thing in gimp portable I switched to small icons theme and then copied the theme.dll from 2.6.12 to
gimp_2_8_2-2-32bits\lib\gtk-2.0\2.10.0\engines

and

theme folder to gimp_2_8_2-2-32bits\share\themes

and voila I have small icons with the theme I used in gimp 2.6.12

I dont know if this is the correct way to do this but it accomplished what I wanted and seems to work just fine
