Yes, I have mathmap...installed after reading some of Photocomix' posts in other threads, but still figuring out how to use it. I was experimenting with it to make decoration caps earlier, but I haven't figured out the more intricate designs.

o I just wondered cuz you need it to make the caps... It is really cool... His tute is very well written so you shouldn't have any trouble making the caps with the nadie Zenith filter.

@Molly, Right. I grabbed the tut - glad GimpTalk is back up, there's so much good stuff there I'd hate to see vanish before I get a chance to thoroughly explore it.

I love everyone's cool avatars. I kind of took the easy way out on mine. Just added snow to the one I had with fencepost's Animated Falling Snowfall Script. If anyone wants it it's available here.

Just had to try and make a candle. Used G'MIC lathe renderer to create the holder. This was actually fun.

Very nice, mahvin! I love the flickering light being cast by the animated flame.

I was actually thinking the light flickering was going to be an involved process, and turned out to be a simple one. 4 frames,(2 frames duplicated once). The odd frames have no light layer (white and yellow ellipses blurred at 150 px, same as flame flicker). the even frames have a light layer, but the trick was to duplicate the layer with the light, change the mode to multiply and reduce the opacity. Doing that cast a glow over the entire candlestick area. Worked pretty well (still needs a bit of tinkering).

Text on a path isn't working well here, will need to use curve bend or something else to keep the text in flow with the page...

The animated image is a .gif, right? Did you try it as an apng just for fun?

Yes, but the file size discouraged me and I scrapped it. So the one showing now is a .gif.
