Today I got an email informing me that Intuos4 M -models are again available as "used products" in the wacom europe online store. Those models are practically new, as they have only been used in presentations and such, and have been checked thoroughly, and even have the same guarantee as totally new ones, but wacom offers them for about 40% discount. Thing is, they're often out of stock, but today I was in luck...

So, I closed my eyes, thought of england and clicked away €200 (shipping included), and now I'm going to have an early christmas this year.

I feel excited, almost giddy. I'm going to get a professional grade tablet, this is so great.

Congrats, dd!

I personally got my Wacom4 M used off e-bay about a year back, it's a very nice tablet - I'm sure you'll be most pleased. Did you use a tablet before?

Yep, I've been using a small bamboo for a couple of years now. It's served me well but now it's time to upgrade to something more powerful. The deal was just too good to pass - not sure if I could have gotten it cheaper somewhere, but a used tablet from somewhere else would not come with a 2 year warranty, so it's practically like getting a new tablet at almost 50% discount.

There's still products available at the wacom.eu store, btw, if anyone wants to grab a good tablet, they have at least S, M, L and the wireless models of intuos4, all at around 40-45% discount, and if those are still too expensive they have very affordable bamboos as well (cheapest ones are about 40€). Not sure if they ship outside europe though.

Swedish ebay (Tradera) usually has a few Wacom's up on offer at any given time. Even Cintiqs show up occationally. Been eyeing one, but cannot really motivate getting one, even at discounted prices. :)

Someone at deviantart was selling a 12" one at 650 US$... But for me it's a bit too much to risk making a deal with someone at the other side of the world - I mean what if they cheat, there's pretty much nothing I could do to get the money back.

My tablet just arrived. I'm happiness

this is so much better than bamboo, it's like moving from stoneage to the starfleet or something.

Also: damn, this thing is a lot bigger than it looks like in pictures... may be I need to get a new table, haha...

You did a great job of the cat DD. Did you do that free hand? Anyway, his claws look like he is ready to tear at some rodent.

dd: impressive work on the cat! did your girlfriend really get this tattoo from your original? or did you make a drawing from her tattoo?

Thanks. Yes, I did it freehand, and yes, my gf took the tattoo based on the drawing, I did the drawing for that purpose.

Yeah. Also it's kind of cool that she now has a tattoo that was designed with open source tools... :D
