OS Version: Win 7 32 bits
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

List any relevant plug-ins or scripts:
iccii layer effects

I would like to know whether it is a normal behaviour of Gimp not releasing the occupied memory when undoing a script.
This request comes from the fact that I was willing to see the effects of the new iccii layer effects set calling them one by one with the sequence:
- run one effect
- undo
- run nex effect
- undo ....
but with such a sequence of steps it's quite easy to run out of memory
(Glib error ** gmem.c:165: failed to allocate....).
In fact I noticed that the image size shown at the bottom was always increasing (that is: undo does not release the occupied memory).
Is this a normal behaviour in Gimp or should I post this info to the specific script?
Many thanks

Sorry... please cancel my observation.
It is true that after the undo the size at the bottom did not change (it was the same as after the effect was produced) but when requesting a subsequent function the size is reset.
Sorry again
(how can I close/cancel a topic in gimp chat?)

This is to allow you to redo the operation (i.e., undo the undo). Once you decide to do something else, GIMP can release the memory holding the redo data.
