alonte: just out of curiousity, which satellite model is it you own? i have one old but advanced and one new but simple and cheap from the satellite series and they're both great to work with, best computers i've ever owned :). but of course, laptops aren't really ideal for image processing, i do understand you wanting something more powerful.

I would go for these, no less

Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM Processor

8GB DDR3 1600MHz memory

2.0TB (5900 RPM, Serial ATA)

alonte: in that case the memory may be a bit on the small side for image processing, but otherwise i like that model - my brother used to have one.
i agree with molly, get one with a good processor and memory.

Possibly of no help what so ever but the last time I upgraded I was on a budget and so decided that however nice a new 23" inch led screen might look there was really nothing wrong with my old 17" CRT, so I put the money into a better tower without the monitor.
